Titans top Panthers

NEW TOWN-- The Boys' Varsity Basketball team lost to the New Town Titans, Friday night at New Town. From the start of the game the Panthers were out matched. The smaller players of Pikesville were pushed around by the bigger and very athletic Titans. New Town started the game with a 10-0 run, started off by a three by team captain, Chris Hutchinson. Then the Panthers started to roll. Once again Devohn Gilmore led the Panthers with 23 points, with eight of them coming in the first quarter. During the game. mental errors were hurting the Panthers. New Towns top offense was almost unstoppable, could they be one of the best in the state? The Panthers had some offensive production as well. All players scored in the game. except Dominique Spruill, who added multiple assists and rebounds. In the fourth quarter Center, Jarell Cox got the ball and emphatically dunked it over two Titans defenders. The crowd and the Panthers bench went wild. Jarell ended the game with 2 points. After being outscored in every quarter, in the fourth, the Panthers out preformed the Titans, 18-8 in points. Freddie Sellers had a great game at point guard, he added 11 points. Also in the fourth, Warren Wyatt scored 7 points, his most scored this season. Ian Lee scored 4, and Alfonzo Timmons, 3. For the Titans, they were led by Chris Hutchinson (12) with 13 points, and Justin Greenway (32), with 25, and both did not play in the final eight minutes of the game. The final score was Pikesville, 59, and New Town, 77. The Panthers are looking forward to the long MLK weekend and for their next game at home this upcoming Wednesday against Western Tech at 6:30 p.m.
