Girls Basketball Sends-off Seniors in Winning Fashion

Pikesville improved to 14-3 on the season with a win against Loch Raven tonight, 47-25 in an awsome send-off to the seniors in the teams Senior Night game.  The Lady Panther's had great senior leadership from starters, Ilana Obuchowski, Emily Fine, Melanie Osefo, and Nicole Gibson.  The team showed a combined effort with balanced scoring.  They jumped to an early lead with two points from the foul line by senior Melanie Osefo, who continued to make a dominant showing, with a "double-double", including over 20 points.
After the game Coach David Clough held a short tribute to his five seniors, Ilana Obuchowski, Emily Fine, Melanie Osefo, Nicole Gibson, and Emily Fader.  He spoke of the joy of working with the five seniors from JV up to Varsity, and seeing them mature and improve in all aspects of the game.  His short speech about each girl brought a tear to several parents' eyes and was a testament to the team spirit that runs deep through out the entire team.
Although this was Pikesville's last regular season home game, the Lady Panthers hope to play several home games in the 1A Regional tournament with a high seed.  They are also striving to participate in the team's first Baltimore County Championship game in school history.
Pikesville's next game is friday February 6 at Chesapeake at 7pm.
