Pikesville Takes Down Sparrows Point in Senior Night Duel Meet

Pikesville beat Sparrows Point 63-9 with a lot of help from its seniors in their final home match of the season.
Josh Warren(215, senior) lead off the night for the Panthers adding several points to the board early with a win by forfeit.
Senior Davon Shambley(285) lost by decision in the last seconds in a long hard fought match.
Ethan Schwartz(103) set a winning tempo for the seniors tonight, winning his match by pin.

Senior Ben Baker(119) continued the pace set by Ethan.  After a tough loss in the finals to Chris Hoffman  of Aberdeen at this past weekend's Overlea Invitational, Ben got back to form with a win by pinning.  He "toyed with him and then took him down in the fifth minute."  Baker showed off his signature style, taking down his opponent and allowing him to get back up several times before finally pinning him in the third round.
Junior Blake Stein(125) was unable to piggy-back on the seniors' successes but his long time rival proved to be too much for him to handle tonight and lost by decision in tough match.
Junior Brian Prince(130) win by pin
Senior Brett Jacobson(135) win by pin
Senior Kion Wright(140) win by pin
Senior Corbin Ellis(152) win by pin
Junior Cyrus Fisher(145) win by decision
Senior Terrell Whitter(160) win by pin
Junior David Schectman(171) win by pin
Junior Robby Chazen(189) lost by decision

In an exhibition duel senior Josh Warren(215) avenged teammate Davon Shambley's loss by pinning Davon's opponent from earlier in the match.

There is no rest for the weary.  After a tournament this past weekend, matches yesterday and today, Pikesville's next match is Thursday night at Landsdowne at 6:30.
However, they will have almost a full week off before the Maryland 1A/2A North Regional Duel Meet Tournement on Wednesday February 11, which Pikesville has qualified for with the win tonight, for the first time in school history.
